Scholarships for international students – Bologna

Bologna
Bologna

The University of Bologna is introducing 30 new scholarships for outstanding international students planning to enroll in second-cycle degree programs for the academic year 2025/26. These scholarships aim to support talented students from diverse educational backgrounds by providing financial assistance and tuition fee exemptions, making high-quality education more accessible. With a strong focus on merit and financial need, the initiative seeks to attract global talent and foster academic excellence.

Each scholarship is valued at €6,500 gross and includes a full exemption from tuition fees, significantly reducing the financial burden on students. The scholarships are awarded for two academic years, ensuring sustained support throughout the program. However, students must maintain academic excellence and meet specific merit-based conditions to receive their installment payments, reinforcing a commitment to academic success.

To be eligible for the International Talents @Unibo scholarship, applicants must meet several requirements. They must have obtained, or be in the process of obtaining, a degree from a non-Italian education system that qualifies them for entry into a second-cycle program. Additionally, applicants are required to take the GRE test, an internationally recognized aptitude and skills assessment, which must be completed before the application deadline. The test, conducted in English, serves as a crucial criterion for selection and is available in testing centers worldwide or online, depending on the availability of the administering organization.

Financial eligibility is another important criterion for scholarship consideration. Applicants must demonstrate an Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator (ISEE) between €16,000 and €35,000. For students whose families earn income outside of Italy and cannot provide an ISEE certificate, an equivalent financial status assessment must be submitted. Candidates should carefully review the necessary documentation, as obtaining these financial documents may take several weeks, and all paperwork must be submitted before the application deadline.

Furthermore, applicants must be 30 years old or younger on the closing date of the call for applications. This age requirement ensures that the scholarship program is targeted at young professionals and recent graduates who are at a crucial stage in their academic and career development. By setting clear eligibility standards, the University of Bologna ensures that the scholarships reach students who demonstrate both exceptional potential and financial need.

This scholarship initiative represents the University of Bologna’s commitment to promoting academic diversity and internationalization. By investing in talented students from around the world, the university continues to strengthen its reputation as a global leader in higher education. Deserving candidates who meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply and take advantage of this remarkable opportunity to pursue their studies in one of Italy’s most prestigious universities.
